Article published in Inner West Courier 13feb07: The State Government continues to ignore light rail and integrated transport planning across Sydney, showing that their commitment to reducing climate change is nothing more than hot air, as is their transport policy.
As member for Drummoyne I would be prepared to take on the RTA and the Minister for Roads, as their focus is on shifting ever-increasing amounts of traffic through Sydney’s congested main roads, sometimes at the expense of local traffic and local residents.
The RTA must be prevented from creating a situation which induces ‘rat-running’ through East Drummoyne (eg, via Seymour St) and at the same time not block reasonable access and egress to the area through the only three traffic-light controlled points that exist: Lyons Rd, Edwin St, and Park Ave. Solutions can be found by consulting with residents and paying attention to the details of road and traffic.

The djvu format, as used by the Inner West Courier, has a couple of very good things going for it, namely that it is a free (GPL) file format, and that it is significantly smaller than PDF files with the same content. However, like PDF, (and unlike HTML) it is not the most conducive format for blogging and linking.
